About

In the later part of 2019, with the blessing and Royal consent of Nana Kwame Akuoko Sarpong, Agogo Omanhene (Paramount Chief) of the Agogo Traditional Area, and that of the Nsamanfo (Ancestors), blessed the Ghana-USA Traditional and Cultural Council Diaspora (GUTCCD); with Nana Amoako Yiadom Gyata (Dr. William Harrison) as President.

Based and founded upon the same ancient and established principles, as that of the "Traditional Councils" located on the soil of Mother Ghana, as well as, found throughout all of Afrika, the GUTCCD's mission is to project the good work of Afrikans and Afrika Diaspora.

We strive to do so by:

  • Reconnecting with our people with the "Akan" culture and traditions, whether born in the USA of Diaspora, born of direct descent, or dwelling in Mother Ghana... We are "One People and Family" and we will never allow ourselves to again be disconnected.

  • Promoting the richness of not only the Agogo Traditional Area,  of Asante Akim North, and Mother Ghana, but the Mother Soil of Afrika as a whole.

  • Establishing and promoting cultural exchanges between our brothers and sisters of the diaspora and those of Mother Ghana.

  • Establishing and promoting business opportunities amongst those of the diaspora and Mother Ghana.

  • and, Much more...

Because we are Akan, we remind ourselves that we are not only Ghananian, but most importantly AFRIKAN as a whole!  As so, we strongly "Say NO to Clanism and/or Tribalism".

Akwabaa (Welcome) to all!

Abibimam Nkuranhye Kurom

In conjunction with our "Traditional Leaders", an even more in-depth connection has been forged in order to make for a reconnection to the Mother Continent, with the founding of the Abibimam Nkuranhye Kurom (translation: "Afrika Encouragement Town").

In doing the above, we establish a linkage with the Abusua (family) system that guided our people from time immortal.

SANKOFA!
